Piano Students Raise Funds to Support Liberty for Youth

On Sunday July 10th, Steinway Piano Gallery Toronto and the Hamilton School of Music co-organized a practice-a-thon to raise funds for Liberty for Youth to acquire a Steinway designed Boston piano for their new music room at their youth centre in Hamilton, Ontario. The awards ceremony was held at the music school where prizes and certificates were given to the fifteen music students who raised almost $1,000. The children and their parents were very pleased to see how much practicing improved their playing. Liberty for Youth was inspired by their efforts and the organization is now on their way to owning a beautiful Boston piano for their youth centre.

Liberty for Youth was founded in 2004 and is supported through a network of donors, funders, volunteers, staff and community partners, The charitable organization provides a prevention, rehabilitation and intervention mentoring program for marginalized youth living in Hamilton and the surrounding areas. This mentorship model strives for permanent behavioural change by building inner character, developing life and leadership skills and inspiring youth to become constructive members of the community.

Our representative from Steinway Piano Gallery Toronto, Shari Tallon, takes pride in connecting people who appreciate pianos with those who can help bring their aspirations to reality. She is very excited that she was able to connect Liberty for Youth and the Hamilton School of Music to make this incredible dream come true.
